Finished the first, enjoyed it.
Was a slow start but got into it, and loved the action focused combat system, much better then the snorefest that was turn based combat in KOTOR
ME2 is out next week |

Nothing wrong with turn based. It would have been better though if more strategy was required. I mean, when I play tturn based games, I think I should have to put a lot of thougth and effort before and during I clear a room full of enemies, instead of charging in there and clearing without any sort of trouble.
...
oh well. |

I've actually just bought mass effect today xD because the second looks rather good and the first is now cheap as anything, and zekk even on the turn based in kotor, I still ran in without a thought about it xD I'm stuck in my ways of "run in, sabers swinging" |

I agree, it's why I didnt complete it when my parents gave it too me, I played a little bit and got extremely bored, put it down, and picked it up a year, later and loved it, but not because of the combat system, not a fan of turn based |

to be honest, i finished mass effect satisfied. why? because i purchased it for 15 dollars. I highly doubt I will be purchasing the second one until it has dropped in price. I enjoyed the story, but for the most part, the most fun I had in Mass Effect was doing the side quests. The main story just didn't do it for me, as enraged you people might be because of it
I don't mind turn-based, and I LOVED KotOR. in fact KotOR is probably right up there in my top games, and the story was so engrossing for me, I really couldnt stop playing. I also enjoyed the side quests in KotOR, but man talk about a baller story.
I'm really interested in purchasing Dragon Age: Origins. Anyone played it? |

We're two different people Heruhl. Just not by a lot, Well as I enjoyed Mass Effect's main quest, i thought of the side quests as all bland repeats of what I did before?
Wow, this planet looks offly similiar to the one I've just been on....with the same "dungeon" as I've just been in....mmm...../ponders
Kotor's turn based was fun. It reminded me of the classic rpgs on the console when I played it on my PC. And the story was superb. Bland villian....but all in all...really entertaining.
As for Dragon's Age....its great. Theres 6 origin stories....all completely different, but joining up to the main quest with branching quests based on your origin story, companion level, and....its just amazing. It's not turn based like Kotor, nor is it active combat like the Jedi Knight series....its a fun mix. I'd suggest it for anyone. |

by the side quests i meant like the random little errands you could do for people that didn't matter. not like the mako missions that were the same with different skins lol |

Zekk, its interesting to note Bioware addressed those concers for ME 2, i did enjoy them but the cut n paste enviroments for them got boring, for me2 they have got rid of them but have distress signals where you can answer and then go to an instanced area, IE a new ship to help out |

I have played neither Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2 but I know a guy that says that both are awesome, so I shall buy the first one play through most of it then buy the second one as quickly as possible. And about the debate of turn based and rushing into a room guns a blazing, I personaly prefer rushing in but I like both really. As long I can make choices that affect the game and I can actually roleplay I'm happy. |

I have also bought Mass Effect 2, Walmart didn't have the first one. I guess I'm just not looking hard enough for side quests for I am already on Disk 2 and I just bought it today. But still awesome game. |
